The conference was funded by the Slovenian Research Agency within research project Transformations – From Material to Virtual. Digital Corpus of Mural Painting – New Dimensions of Medieval Art Research in Slovenia (J6-2587) and research programme Art in Slovenia at a Cultural Crossroads (P6-0061).

The Conference is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the independent institute now called the France Stele Institute of Art History of the Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
